Well, that was another full-on weekend.
On Friday night I played at Mama Stone’s with Marc before the funky Freshly Squeezed. After a short night’s sleep I jumped on a train to London to watch ‘The Voice’ at the BBC. While we waited outside the studio we saw some Stormtroopers and a Spice Girl (not together, may I add). Over the fence stood a paparazzi with his huge camera hoping she would get out of her car. She didn’t though. 1-0 for Geri.
Watching the live show of the Voice was absolutely mental; you could really feel the excitement and the tension in the room. The amount of talent all these contestants have is unbelievable. I was very sad to see our friend Hannah Berney leave the competition but I have no doubt that this Welsh girl has a very bright future ahead of her! We spent the rest of the evening with some of the Voice contestants and Danny O’Donoghue joined us after the show. It was great to meet the man who writes a lot of the songs that I cover! He was lovely and spoke very highly of Adam, which was nice!
After another short night’s sleep I jumped on another train back to Devon to play at the Oddfellows in Exeter in the afternoon. I met a lovely jazz singer, Celia Delaney, but unfortunately couldn’t stay to watch her set as I had to drive to Torquay to play at the Offshore with Marc in the evening. We hadn’t played there together for a while but enjoyed being back massively. We’ll be playing there again on the 20th of this month.
This Saturday I’m very excited to go back to watch the next live show of The Voice. I hope you all can spare a phone call (or 10) (or 100) to vote for Adam Isaac!
