Well, that was another full-on weekend.
On Friday night I played at Mama Stone’s with Marc before the funky Freshly Squeezed. After a short night’s sleep I jumped on a train to London to watch ‘The Voice’ at the BBC. While we waited outside the studio we saw some Stormtroopers and a Spice Girl (not together, may I add). Over the fence stood a paparazzi with his huge camera hoping she would get out of her car. She didn’t though. 1-0 for Geri.

Watching the live show of the Voice was absolutely mental; you could really feel the excitement and the tension in the room. The amount of talent all these contestants have is unbelievable. I was very sad to see our friend Hannah Berney leave the competition but I have no doubt that this Welsh girl has a very bright future ahead of her! We spent the rest of the evening with some of the Voice contestants and Danny O’Donoghue joined us after the show. It was great to meet the man who writes a lot of the songs that I cover! He was lovely and spoke very highly of Adam, which was nice!

After another short night’s sleep I jumped on another train back to Devon to play at the Oddfellows in Exeter in the afternoon. I met a lovely jazz singer, Celia Delaney, but unfortunately couldn’t stay to watch her set as I had to drive to Torquay to play at the Offshore with Marc in the evening. We hadn’t played there together for a while but enjoyed being back massively. We’ll be playing there again on the 20th of this month.

This Saturday I’m very excited to go back to watch the next live show of The Voice. I hope you all can spare a phone call (or 10) (or 100) to vote for Adam Isaac!

Well, that was a good weekend.

Hey everyone,
I’ve just about recovered from the mad weekend at the Exeter Food & Drink Festival. There was lots going on in the daytime and I even managed to find some very nice vegetarian food!
The Mama Stone’s House Band was on both Friday and Saturday nights with Leigh Coleman on the first evening and Hannah Berney on the Saturday night, followed by a rocking set by Adam Isaac. It was absolutely brilliant and I think most of us lost our voices singing along!

I also played a set with Marc and Leigh on Saturday and sang with my dear side project, the Mama Stone’s Acoustic Choir, on Saturday and Sunday. You can have a listen here. It is such good fun to sing these songs together with the most positive man on Earth, Adam Moran, as our Maestro. :)

Recently I’ve been writing some new songs, but it’s been quite tough to find time to focus on it as there’s A LOT going on at the moment.

Speaking of which, I will be playing with Marc Taylor this Thursday at the Studio Lounge in Totnes, supporting Adam Isaac. I’m also playing a solo set in Exeter at the North Bridge Inn on Friday 20th. It’ll be my first time playing there so I’m quite excited about it!

Here’s a video of Marc and I playing ‘Weather with You’ by Crowded House at the Studio Lounge in Totnes - a brilliant new venue with great sound, great atmosphere and ran by passionate people. We will be playing there again soon :)

Here is the newest song from one of my all time favourite artists, John Mayer. I very much look forward to hearing his new album and if you haven’t heard his music yet (which is the case for quite a lot of people in Europe), I highly recommend pretty much everything he’s done so far! One of the dots on my ‘Dreams to Achieve’ list is to share the stage and sing with him. In New York. Somewhere like Central Park. That would be amazing. You can never set your aims too high, can you? :)
